App Store not showing up on iTunes

Hi,

My iTunes is not displaying the App Store icon and I can't find any way of activating it. I already authorized the computer and got everything going, except for this. My iPhone is brand new and isn't jailbroken, if you ask me.
Oh, and I'm a PC.

iPhone 3G 16 Gb, Windows Vista, Sony Vaio AW

Have you checked to see if the App Store icon is on page 2 of your iPhone?

The App Store icon is displayed on the iPhone and it works ok.
The problem is within iTunes. I get the iTunes store, but the App Store's icon never shows up (with or without the iPhone connected to the PC).

you may need to update your itunes software. You should have 80220.

In itunes, go to help at the top, and select check for updates.

if it is, then if a reboot of your computer doesn't work I would uninstall and reinstall itunes.

Ok, now I feel just stupid:
iTunes / Edit / Preferences / General / Check on Show Applications...

I find it strange to have it disabled by default. Anyway, I should have checked it out before coming here asking for help.

Yep, there is. The iPhone is sold completely legal in Portugal by 2 or 3 different carriers.
