Keyboard shortcut to move the playhead?

The < and the > keys move the playhead backward or forward one measure. Holding the shift key and using the < and > keys moves the playhead backward or forward eight measures. All regardless of zoom level.

What key combination can I use to move whatever distance I want the playhead to go? Like beat by beat or 128th notes or whatever?

Franz Liszt. Love your early stuff, man.

You're looking for something called "forward/rewind by division value" which you can find in the key commands menu (option+k). On my computy I hold down the shift key and then < or >. Maybe different for you. Are you familiar with setting the division value? it's the number below the time signature in the transport window. I'm looking at mine right now and it says "/8" which means the playhead moves in eighth note increments, but you can set it to whatever you want.

M. Satie,

??? surely you mean F7/9 in 5th position!
Seriously, sorry, my mistake; these are my own keycommands, 'rewind by division value' and 'forward by division value' have no KC assigned in the default list. So, my tip: assign ⌥< and ⌥> to those keycommands. Just to be complete:
Hit ⌥K
In the subsequent Key Commands window, find 'rewind by division value' (type 'division' in the little Spotlight window top right of the KC window - that shortens the list) Select it. Press the 'learn by key label' button, press the desired key combination. Select 'forward by division value', repeat, close the window, see if it works and say "thanks Erik, that's it!"
Maybe I am misunderstanding. Though, I would of course count on some meaningless, eccentric brevity from you, minding your previous work.

I've long renounced Dada - nihilism was lurking menacingly within that movement... and it is hard to avoid that trap when confronted with the true meaninglessness of all. Who can look at the void and keep smiling?

Anyway, hope this helps, mr. Liszt - alas I am frightfully unfamiliar with your work, so I cannot make a remark remotely as erudite as yours. I trust you will forgive me for this lacune in my otherwise excellent education.
