I bought a set at the Sydney Apple Store yesterday; they seemed to have lots in stock. If they've made it down to us I'd guess all the other Apple stores worldwide would have them by now too.
The in-ear headphones will play in all iPods/iPhones. However, the remote portion of the headphones will only work with the 4th generation iPod nano and the iPod classic (120GB).
My thoughts too. Does anyone know if it would actually be possible in the future to update iPod touch 1st Generation software so the IEM's remote abilities work? Or are there hardware issues/differences/problems that would prevent the remote from working on a Gen 1 iPod touch?
Don't think there will be. The previous generation iPod touch isn't equipped with the correct headphone jack connectors to associate with the the IEM headphone's contacts.
On another front, does anyone know if they make an extension for them? They are about 4 inches too short when they are in my pocket, which pulls them out of my ears. I really don't want to have to return them over that. A regular headphone extension works, but I lose the ability to use the remote. If that's the case, I will return them I guess. 😟
I would also like to know if there is an extension available. I like having the inline volume controls, but sadly, they don't work through an extension.
