Anyone help with connection of apple tv with b&o beovision avant crt tv?
Tried to connect via the component inputs on the back of the avant. Nothing....called B&O tech in Chicago. They said to set the output of the appletv to 480p since that's all the crt can do. Did that. Reconnected and still no go. Sound is fine but no picture. Someone recommended appletv converter but I'm hesitant to put more money out without assurance it will work. Appletv converter is online only. I phoned them and they said that appletv outputs 480i and the converter will change it to s-video. So. Anyone have any experience with any of this before appletv or Beovision Avant goes on craigslist? Thanks.
when i had a crt without component or hdmi
i could get a black'n'white picture connecting the atv to
composite you can try that for troubleshooting and changing settings
thanks for the replies...it's component (the red/green/blue cables). I set the appletv to 480p with a projector setup i have in another room so I know it's there. I set the beovision to 'stb=generic YPbPr' according to the directions from the b&o tech). I'm wondering if front row with a macmini would do the same thing (i.e., play movies from iTunes in a computer in another room) but since it has a vga connector adapter it might work better.......
You could try setting the tv to 480i or better still cycling through the output resolutions while connected to your B&O.
1 Press and hold both 'menu' and '+' on the Apple Remote for about 6 seconds.
2 Press '+' or '-' on the Apple Remote to cycle through the display resolutions (pause for a few seconds between each press)
3 When Apple TV reaches an acceptable display resolution and “If you can see the Apple
logo, select OK” appears on your TV screen, press 'play’ .
