Apple Hi Fi Home Stereo for iPod model #A1121

I'm moving to Australia from the US and would like to take my ipod stereo with me. As I won't be able to plug it in (Australia is 115 voltage and step down converters are unreliable) I'm thinking of running it on the 6 D batteries that is an option with this unit. I'm wondering.... does it really suck the juice out of the batteries very quickly? Is this even a sensible option or should I just sell the unit here before I leave? Anyone ever run this stereo on batteries???

As far as I know, iPod HiFi is came with universal power supply 110-240v.

You can confirm it by calling Apple Store.

Secondly, a good step down converter is reliable, of course, I do not mean the cheap one.

Thirdly, Yes I run it with batteries and juice out very quickly.

iPod HiFi is a good product, which it is no longer producing, therefore, there is a demand in the secondary market. I love mine but I am placing it at my Restaurant, I have lately replaced it with this product ... which is the best I reckon ..
