Using Stanza

I've downloaded Stanza to my iTouch but now I'm trying to download a free book from manbooks.net since they carry the old Tom Corbett books from the 1950s which our 9 year old has gotten hooked on. However, I haven't been able to figure out from either their website instructions or the Stanza information page which format to use that is compatible with iTouch and Stanza. Can anyone give me information on what type of download format to use? Thanks

iMac, Mac OS X (10.4.11)

Hi!

Stanza iPhone / iPod Touch supports eReader with or without DRM and ePub without DRM

Stanza Desktop contains built-in reading support for DRM-free Amazon Kindle, DRM-free Mobipocket, Microsoft LIT, and PalmDoc, as well as Microsoft Word, Rich Text Format, HTML, and PDF.

I usually use the e-reader format (pdb) for my books. If you download your books directly to your desktop, you will need to install the Stanza Desktop.

I hope this is helpful.

O.K. Thanks delenn1 for the information to use eReader. I have downloaded one of the books but I don't know how to get it into iTunes to then be able to sync it to the iTouch. Reading it on the iMac is not something I need to do so I haven't placed Stanza on my desktop. Can you provide the next step of instructions? I have the file sitting in my downloads folder right now. Thanks

It is true that you have to use wi-fi but any recent iMac should be able to create what's known as an "ad-hoc" network. I believe this should work. These are the instructions to create an ad-hoc network and should be right for any of the recent OS's.

After you create your network, you can join it like any other from your iPod.
Hope this helps!
