I've successfully connected my MacBook to a new Samsung LCD TV via VGA. Luckily I'm getting full screen with proper scaling but there is slight slight double image or ghosting as well. The TV is fully recognized and has been Profile calibrated. Has anyone overcome this aberation or just live with it as a VGA situation?

It could be a problem with your adapter or the Mini DIsplayPort on your computer.
Try it with a different device and hope for the best. If the problem persists, replace your adapter. If it still persists, take your computer into the Apple Store for them to diagnose the problem.
It would be helpful to know the resolution of the large display... I have seen many instances where a standard VGA cable can't carry large resolutions w/o ghosting, but the same resolution over DVI is crystal clear; this is particularly true if the cable is long or not well shielded.
I'd suggest trying to connect via DVI if that is available on the display or trying the machine with a different monitor or VGA cable to rule them out as issues before trekking into the Apple Store.
VGA is an old, sad technology -- analog is as analog does, as they say.
Thanks for your comments, guys. A friend dropped over with his MacBook and got the same result so I think it is a side-effect of VGA as you suggested. DVI display at work is superior but the Samsung LCD TV only has VGA computer input. I won't be connecting very frequently- it was more of an observation.
