itunes gift card help????

I have a gift card balance left on itunes it says $10.00 and i want to buy a $5.00 movie but when i go to buy it it says it will charge the credit card. Why is this and how can i make it charge my gift card?

Does it say "your account will be debited" or your credit card will be charged? Because it should automatically take from any gift card balance first, and if so it will say your account will be debited.

I have the same exact problem except that I'm trying to get an iPod Game.
I tried downloading a song ,and I had no problem with that, it said "you will be debited..blahblah" like it should.
frustrating..

Well, I can only answer ramjam's question which is because of "iTunes Gift Cards and iTunes Gift Certificates can be used to purchase music, videos and audio books from the iTunes Store. _iTunes Gift Cards and iTunes Gift Certificates may not be used on the Canadian store to purchase applications and games._ iTunes Gift Cards and iTunes Gift Certificates are not accepted for online Apple Store purchases." that was a quote from the iTunes gift card FAQ ,so i hope you found this helpfull ramjam and to Lollipop i hope you find the answer to your question.

Yes it says it will charge my debit card and i still have money on it. Im so confuzed.
