You need a hosting package from 123 reg to go with your domain name. You then make your site in iWeb and then publish to a folder and then use an ftp client such as Cyberduck to upload your site to your hosting space and your domain name.

In this case, if you get a hosting package from 123 reg, then no, by uploading your site to the space there, you are hosting your site on their servers.

To be able to host a site yourself, you need to go to System Preferences and click on sharing and then click on web sharing or rather than using Mac OS 10.5 you need to purchase a copy of Mac OSX server and use this.

It is much simpler just to get a hosting package from 123 reg with your domain name and publish and upload to their server with Cyberduck.

It is a lot of work to run one a machine as a server and you need two computers as well.

A copy of Mac OS X Server to a 10 pack will set you back $499 or £312 and for an unlimited license $999 or £616.

I would re-think this really and strongly suggest that you get a hosting package and pay for it.

I'm not suggesting that you purchase it by any means and I know nothing about it other than it exists so I can't tell you what to do once you have it. You'll need to figure that one out for yourself!!

I do not host my own server - I have a registered domain name with GoDaddy and use their Linux hosting space too and I find it good and reliable as my site is for work.

I would strongly suggest that you read what Alancito has posted. Read those links - I just did and it gives you very good info about the ins and outs of hosting yourself and the pitfalls. Unless you are really serious, it is probably more trouble than it is worth. I would just upload to some hosting space with 123 reg if I were you.
