time change

I'm almost certain that this question has come up before, but I can't find it ...

After I switch back from Windows to Mac OS X, the time on Mac has changed. The time is always a few hours slower. It happens even when I locked the time. How do I fix it? Thanks.

iMac 2.4GHz, 2GB, 320G HD, with Windows XP SP3, Mac OS X (10.5.6), MacBook 2GHz, 1GB, 80G HD Mac OS X 10.4.11

Hi there, I had the same problem. I researched through a bunch of mac forums, and the basic answer I got was that they store the time differently. Here's a link that helped me, but I ended up just disregarding the time difference as I don't do anything particularly time-relevant with windows. Hope this helps.

Thank you for the info.
When I first started to use Intel MacBook a couple of years ago, I had the problem, but I fixed it. But now I don't remember how. Now it is a different machine. I think there are tricks to fix it.

The solution works fine whenever I bootup Win XP using Bootcamp (ver 2.1). But after going into standby mode in XP, the time becomes wrong like before. If I don't change anything, the time will again be corrected when I next reboot into XP.

I have no problem on OSX. Guess there is still a little something to be done, other than setting registry RealTimeIsUniversal to 1. Hope someone can solve this last bit soon.

This really needs fixing. I'm not comfortable doing brain surgery on registry files just to keep the date/time straight. Shouldn't the time server override the system settings (when that's active, of course)? It doesn't. Can anyone explain why ?
