Purchased music vanished

Every purchase I made in iTunes store dissappeared. Strangely the music purchased before 12/11/06 is still there. But everthing after that date including my most recent purchase on 12/09/08 is gone. No available downloads and iTunes is up to date. Also all my playlist including recently added, purchased, recently played are gone as well. Please help.

It sounds like your library file got replaced somehow with one from before Dec. 11, 2006. Before you totally panic, try running a search of your hard drive for a few of the missing songs...if the song files are still on your hard disk, that's good.

The ideal solution is to replace the 2006 .itl file in your current iTunes folder with a recent backup copy that contains all of the new songs and playlists you've added in the past two years.

Last resort: If you don't have a recent backup copy of your library file...but all of the music is still on your computer, or an iPod...perhaps you can reimport the missing music into your iTunes library?

Thank you for your help Sam. I did what you said and found nearly everything I had purchased. I still would like to get my playlist options back. I tried making "recently added" playlist to see if it would automatically update. It didn't work. If anybody has an idea please respond. Thank you.
