Wireless --> Wired

I just got my new iPod touch and I have a question.
I'd like to connect my iPod to my stationary PC using Wifi.

I have my PC connected to my wifi router with a ethernet cable and my iPod connected to the same router but using WIFI.
Is it possible for the PC to detect the iPod? I'd like to use the "remote" application and such.

IPT needs a wired connection to sync/charge from the PC. Wi-Fi is for Wi-Fi dependent apps (e.g. Safari, Weather, Mail, Remote).

it should work if it dont then it's because your router is not setup to route from wired to wifi
check it's documentation how you change that
and of cause as stated one cant sync over wifi
but remote app should work fine as long as the ipod touch and
the computer is on the same subnet

OK, is there any PC user out there that knows the answer on what changes you have to do?

Cause i'm fresh out of ideas and can't seem to get it working

what happens when you try to use remote?
is itunes set up to 'look for iphone and ipod touch remotes' (edit ..... preferences ..... devices ...... check box at the bottom?
