Frozen iPod

A friend of mine had her 30GB iPod plugged into her computer. When she went to stand up, the iPod came unplugged from the computer while the "Do Not Disconnect" was still flashing. Now, everytime the iPod is plugged into a computer, a pop-up advises the user to Scan and Fix the drive, but everything on the computer freezes up. We have tried plugging it into 3 different computers and none of them work. Someone please help us!!
