How to make numeric keypad in USB Logitech Keyboard work_

Hi,

I bought a Logitech USB Keyboard (Classic 200) because it had a numeric keypad and said that it was compatible with a mac. Problem is, it won't recognize the numlock key for me to use the numeric keypad. I need to use the numeric keypad sometimes because i work with excel a lot 😟.

Thanks

Macbook, Mac OS X (10.4.11)

hi!

yeah, i saw that as well but here in Germany, the keyboard has a mac compatible stamp on it. 😟 i bought another keyboard (elecom) and the thing doesn't work as well. 😟 i tested the keyboard on a macbook on display on the store and the numeric keypad worked (maybe because it's german) but when i got home it won't work. I think it has to do with the fact that my macbook has a US keyboard and the USB keyboard i got was German. changed stuff in the input menu to german but it still won't work and recognize that the keyboard is extended.

I dunno about the german/american thing having only ever dealt with american.....sorry. Maybe your best bet would be to try to find an Apple keyboard on eBay or something...but once again finding one in Germany might be tough....but maybe you could find one in Great Brittan? I have no idea what shipping might cost you though....sorry to be of no help.

I have it figured out...I think.

When you press the +Num Lock+ key on the Logitech, it's in the position of the Apple keyboard's clear key. So, when you think you're hitting Num Lock , your computer is doing clear.

I think that a solution would be to get the Num Lock on while you're hooked to a ms window (or maybe Linux) computer and then unplug it and move it to your MacBook.

It's worth a try. I think it may work. -GDF
