Websites do not have the https anymore. Did I get hit? What to do?

I tried to save a jpg from a site, then the screen became that image. Now most sites I have checked out do not have the https padlock anymore. Have I been hit?
What do I need to do now?

iMac, Mac OS X (10.4.11)
