VPN into windows network

Hey,
So here is my problem. I am trying to vpn into my work network where I want to remote my desktop. I can do this on windows but want to do it on my mac.

So I set up a vpn connection and it connects and says connected to my work vpn. After which I am lost. I am using Microsoft RDC to terminal into my work pc. Except I cant even ping my work pc. I cant ping anything in my work environment.

Any ideas?

Macbook Pro / Mac Pro, Mac OS X (10.5.6)

Talk to your IT department about the VPN setup they have, and how to connect a Mac.

This is totally dependent on the VPN concentrator you are using and the setup you have.

Do you use a shared secret or a certificate? What is the shared secret, or where is the certificate?

VPN is a very, very complicated beast. Do you manually set up everything on the Windows side, or does your IT group give you a utility to do it for you?

The answer ended up being that you have to give the full host name along with the domain.
