Hi, lilithpro. Apple is typically very tight-lipped about internal decision-making and the reasoning behind it. Information that is seen as serving the company's marketing objectives is released and publicized. Additional information is always hard to get, and I suspect that manufacturing-process information may be some of the hardest. It may be essential for you to draw heavily on the comments of production engineers outside of Apple who have examined the new models and considered their pluses and minuses from a professional perspective, even if they have no inside information from Apple.

Do you mean that the process is "nothing special", or the covered information is "nothing special"? The computer base is one piece - that's special - and that provides for a considerably stiffer chassis. The "process" itself - machining, drilling - is pretty straight forward.
