Aperture and Griffin Powermate

Hi,

Has anyone used the Griffin Powermate USB button together with Aperture ? It would be great to use it to control sliders or to scroll thourgh my library.

Grateful for any heads up on how well you can use control elements with the Powermate.

Many thanks !

I just dusted off my Power Mate to try this out. First off found the scrolling ridiculously sensitive.
You'll need to pIay around with the key settings. I tried
left/right=scroll
click left/click right = send key arrows
click=send key F
long click = send key H

You can't visually move the sliders but if you click inside the slider value and it highlights solid blue you can use the Powermate to increase/decrease the values by multiples of 5.
Adding shift moves multiples of 10
Adding alt moves multiples of 1
(of course not using the power mate and just using the arrow keys does the same thing!)

As I type this I'm thinking click may be better assigned to click not f.

Play around and see what you come up with.

But the key thing is - it works.

Hope this helps.

I just found this thread while looking around for PowerMate+Aperture.

I set mine up to send Tab when clicked, arrow keys when turned (opt+arrow keys when click-turned). This almost gets me what I want: I can open the Adjustments HUD and click to switch between the settings and turn to adjust them, but I have to use my mouse cursor to click the Adjustments HUD to give it focus first.
