I've been having an issue with my home row keys (A thru L) not responding after a certain period of time. After reading some other discussions of non-responsive keys, I tried the cleaning of the gray ribbon cable and connector under the battery. The keys do alright for a while, but then they stop working again. I thought it was maybe a heat issue from the battery, but that doesn't really add up, because it's only the home row keys that don't respond. It just seems strange. I've blown out the keyboard with the can of air for electronics, but that doesn't have any effect. I don't want to rule anything out, but I was wondering if anyone else has had this problem. I can't seem to reference any other problems exactly like mine.

I go to pick up my MBP Saturday. They said they had to order a new keyboard. I am not totally sold on that solution, but I will see what happens when I get it back. I took it to an AASP, so if this doesn't solve the problem, I am going to send it directly to Apple or just drive 90 minutes to the nearest Apple store. Wish me luck!!
I got my MBP back yesterday. They replaced the keyboard and so far, so good. I am going to put it through the ringer over the next few weeks, just to make sure that was truly the problem. I will continue to keep everyone posted.
I just dropped of my MBP to my local AASP. Seems things happen in 3's with me. Not only is home row keys situation still in limbo, but I have an apparent bad battery (only 63 cycles and holding 19% charge) and my second power supply (last one replaced under recall) is starting to show a split on the out wire Covering, just an inch from the power supply itself. The last two problems are easy fixes, but we will see if the keyboard situation is rectified this time. I let them know about the cable, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed on this. If anyone else has had their problem solved, without taping over the cable, please post so that others are aware.
