Grab: Change default title

I use Grab constantly to snap screenshots. (shift-apple-3)

Is there a way to change the default name of the picture (Picture 1.jpg) to Picture_timestamp.jpg ?

If you're wondering why jpg - just hit the terminal and toss in

type this: defaults write com.apple.screencapture type jpg
then hit enter
then type this: killall SystemUIServer
then hit enter

Command shift 3 doesn't use Grab 🙂 and saves to png with Leopard.
Apps > Utilites > Grab or though Services ~ saves as tiff not png.
Grab when open.
Selection ~ Command Shift A and Screen ~ Command Z. Plus Save As.

TinkerTool can change the format saved with Command shift 3 or 4 etc. to most others.
Time stamp ~ sorry can't help.

Use TinkerTool to reset where screenshots are saved. Then, create a folder action script to change the new item's name, as you desire. Details are left as an exercise. However, there are sample folder action scripts in /Library/Scripts/ and an A*dd to File Names.scpt* in the Finder Scripts subfolder. Combining those should do the trick. Further queries should be posted to the AppleScript forum under OS X Technologies.
