Question

norwegian macbook

hola
trying to buy a macbook from the internet.it says""configuraded for norway"so i guess if i can handle the start up in norwegian and after change the language in to english it should be o.k.?
or are all the start ups of them in english anyway?

Hello Barbara:

My advice - be very careful what you buy - computing wise - from the Internet. I have only purchased computers from the manufacturer (in the US) so I have no experience with the language issue you note. If you do decide to buy one, be absolutely sure you get the original software install DVDs that came with that system. Eventually you will need them.

Normally you can switch any OS X to English by just going to system prefs/international/languages and moving English to the top of the list and logout/login.

But you may not be happy if the machine has a Norwegian physical keyboard.

The keyboard would most likely have a different physical layout. Some countries have their own specific letters and they are will appear on any "localized" keyboard. The operating system can of course easily be set to your language, but you might have to respray the keyboard... 😉
