volume control buttons on my macbook

hi,

i can't seem to control the volume using the buttons on the keypad but can control the volume using the mouse and the volume symbol.

can anyone help?

Try selecting System Preferences/Keyboard and Mouse, and in the Keyboard field uncheck the button for the Use all F1, F2, etc. keys…
