rewire issue with reason 4

I'm rewiring reason 4 into logic express 8 and when I'm auditioning an aux track via external midi (reason instrument) within logic it works great but as soon as I switch to another track to play or audition, say a regular software instrument within the logic library or a 3rd party plug-in, I continue to get signal overlap from the rewire track (reason instrument) on top of the new sound I'm now auditioning and I don't want that...I'm assuming there's a simple fix to this dilemma and I would appreciate some enlightenment!

macbookpro, Mac OS X (10.5.5), none

You're right. There are simple things you can do to "fix" this. If you want to audition an instrument in Logic without getting playback from Reason, a simple non-technical solution I've used is to select the transport bar in the reason sequencer window while playing and recording in logic.

Another simple solution would be to create an instrument in Reason (nn-xt, subtractor etc.) as a "dummy" instrument, and mute that device in the mixer of the Reason rack. Anytime you need to audition a Logic instrument, simply select the dummy instrument in reason's sequencer window. An empty Combinator can also be created in reason as a "dummy" instrument without the need to mute the track in the mixer.

However, to audition in reason without interference from logic, simply disarm the record button (R) on the track in logic.

Hope this helps.
