Same problem here on my iPhone 3G running OS 2.2.

This happened too with the first release of Remote. I think we may have to wait for a 1.0.1 release to correct this issue. More people need to try Keynote remote and report their failures to get a faster fix.

Unfortunately I seem to have the same problem. Keynote can 'see' my iPhone 3G (v2.2 software) - press link - enter passcode - wait ... and wait... and wait... and nothing happens.
I am using a new aluminium block MacBook Pro running OS X 10.5.6.

When I link with the computer everything is ok, then the iphone cannot find keynote!!!
Very frustrating, considering I have a presentation on Friday.

Big same here for me. iPod touch 2.2 - create link fine with passcode - but then it never connects.

Same problem here. iPod touch 1st gen with 2.2 and Keynote Remote will not connect.

replying to my own post- turned out that I had "Allow only essential services" selected in my Firewall preferences. When I selected "Allow All Incoming"- Keynote remote connected fine.

Similar issue. iPod Touch and computer are on the same network as instructed. However, Keynote cannot even find my iPod, let alone try to sync with it. Happily, the iWork trial is free and the remote app only cost 99 cents. Deletion is easy.

Love iWork'09 so much I've bought it. Shame I can't use my iPhone to control it however. But you are right, the demo is free - and the App 59p (here in the UK).

Do anyone have Little Snitch running? In my case this was the reason - it prevents Keynote from contacting your phone/pod.

I am running 10.5.6 on a brand new MacBook Pro, all incoming connections allowed (Firewall settings), and no "Little Snitch" or other 3rd-party plugins installed. Also tested on two different WiFi networks (office and home).

Besides the $0.99 spent on the remote, I have migrated to Keynote 09 primarily to have this new feature, and am surprised that this issue hasn't been resolved already.

Same problem here when using iPhone Keynote App with iWork 09 trial. Waiting on fix before upgrade to iWork 09.

Issue was due to VPN software used in MBP; both devices were on the same network but MBP had VPN software running. Remote linked successfully after disabling VPN client on MBP.

Still not able to link my iPhone 3G to Keynote - Have tried a plethora of 'solutions' posted both here and elsewhere. So fed-up I decided to use an alternative... Have to say Wooji Juice's Stage Hand / Stage Manager solution worked first time - no problems what so ever. True - it's more expensive - but at least it works.
