Trying to share a drive, failing miserably

I bought an OWC Mercury Elite 2 drive firewire case. It has an Oxford 912 chip I think. It can do Raid 0, one big disk, or JBOD. I have it set to JBOD right now as my drives are mismatched sizes (320GB and 500GB).

I can't get a Mercury Elite FW 800 Case (part no. OWCMEFW924AL2K) to share correctly on 10.5.6 on a PowerBook G4, 1.67Ghz, 1.5GB of ram. These are the only other drives connected to the machine.

I can only get one of the drives to share, and its when I select the other to be shared.

So, for example, I have one named Media and one named Backup. When I have both mounted on the computer it doesn't matter which one I share using the file sharing preferences, only the Backup drive will be shared. If I reboot the computer, unmount Backup, then share Media it will share Media properly.

They have never at any time been named the opposite as what they are. I've always wanted the smaller drive as the shared drive and the larger drive as the backup drive.

Any Ideas about what might be causing this?
