IPOD Emulator or sync my laptop like an IPOD?

does any one know of a way to sync my laptop to my mac mini itunes? My goal is to only carry music on my laptop that I sync, thus freeing up space on my laptop and retaining a single repository for all my music. One way, I guess, would be to have some sort of IPOD emulator that I could run on my mac book that would sync with my mac mini itunes.

If it doesn't exist, Apple should think about this... Heck, if I owned a Macbook Air I couldn't store my music library without filling up the entire drive.

Another thought would be to have the ITunes sharing work over mobile me.

Thoughts? Suggestions?
