Making MONO audio to Stereo (or hearable in both ears).?

recently got a new audio recorder that only records in Mono with an external mic.

Buy a mono-to-stereo adapter cable.

I went to the site and read the description. It says:

A) Yes the product does support that."

However, when I tried to find an adapter in the US, all of the sites that have a mono-to-stereo adapter says that it "does not create stereo sound".

I guess I'm confused. I, also, would love to find a product that would do this, since I purchased a couple of inexpensive microphones and discovered later than they were mono.

I didn't even see the FAQ on the site (too far down for my screen). It seems as the FAQ is (in error) copied and pasted from another type of adapter.

That's the whole point! It should create mono sound (the same sound in both channels) instead of the "stereo" sound you have with one channel of sound and one channel of silence.

Thanks for the clarification. I guess I was misinterpreting what it meant. With that clarification, I should be able to find many sites within the US that carry such an adapter.

Open Audio (Mono) in Quicktime Pro. Go to File -Export. Export Sound to Aiff. Choose options. Choose ..Channels ...Mono. Click Okay and save. Resulting file will be two identical tracks in L & R, mono simulating stereo. Can then import into other applications like IMovie and use it like it was stereo.
