Repair/reinstall Safari

A few weeks ago I noticed Facebook kept logging me out almost every time I clicked something.

I've tried all sorts to fix it, with no luck. Today I tried installing another browser, just to see if that would fix it, so I installed Camino, and low and behold Facebook works fine it.

Thing is, I don't want to use Camino full time, I like Safari. So can anyone tell me how to fix Safari? Thanks

You can try resetting Safari by selecting Reset Safari from Safari's File menu. You will lost all your bookmarks so you may want to save the bookmarks.html file in your /Home/Library/Safari/ folder. You might also want to remove the /Home/Library/Preferences/com.apple.safari.plist file.

You can completely reinstall Safari from the Optional Installs option of your Leopard installer disc. Doing so, however, will not perform the reset and may not solve your problem, so I'd suggest the reset first.

I had already tried reinstalling Safari from the disc, and it didn't work. I'd also tried deleting the com.apple.safari.plist file, again it didn't work.

Your suggestion of Resetting Safari seems to have worked - I've been browsing Facebook for a good few minutes now, with no logouts.

Will report back if it goes pear shaped, but for now: thanks, and I'll mark the question as solved.

EDIT: nope, didn't work, Facebook still logging me out every few minutes.
