new and old minis

I know there are new and old ipod minis. i hav a version 1.3. is that a new or old version?

and also how much more battery life do the new ones have compared to the old ones?

Hi Will.

The 1.3 refers to the version of the firmware, not the iPod itself.

The easiest way to know what generation mini you have is to turn it over and look at the back. If it's a second generation mini, it will have the drive size etched there (4gb or 6gb). If it's a first gen, it will have no indication of the drive size.

The second gen should get up to eighteen hours battery life - the first gen, up to eight.
