Macally iVoice III: Will it work on a 2G touch, firmware 2.2?
I was at Walmart buying a case for the 2G touch I just got, and I saw an iPod microphone. I believe it was the Macally iVoice III. Later I got this idea and wondered if I could use that and Fring to hook up to Skype.
So, has anyone used this mic with a 2G touch, version 2.2? Specifically with Fring?
iMac G5 17" 1.8 GHz, 2 gigs ram, 160 gb hard drive,
Mac OS X (10.5.6),
iPod touch 2G, iMac G4, a few dead iBooks
Oh, update, I hunted around a little more, and I saw a video on YouTube that says you have to open it up and solder a wire to two points on the board to make it work with touch.
Thanks, I'll give it a shot. If it doesn't work, I've been looking at Apple's headphones with the microphone. I might pick up a pair of those. I bet they'll work. 🙂
