My iPod is being serviced right now so I can't check it now. I want to know if a 2nd generation iPod Touch will work through a iHome. I have tried listening to my iPod through a docking base attached to stereo but it only play through the iPod speakers. Will this happen with the iHome? I know that some people said that it will play though the external speakers if something isn't plugged into the headphones jack, will this happen with the iHome also?
I'm sorry but my iPod Touch is from early December so it is still a 2nd Generation because the only difference is that it comes with the speakers and the apps store already on it. I know the difference because I had an iPod Touch before and it was a 1st Generation it came out a week before they decided to announce the release of the 2nd Generation.
I don't mind if it doesn't charge but will it play through the iHome speakers or the iPod Touch internal speakers? A while ago I tried plugging my iPod into the docking base I have then plugging the docking base into the stereo with the auxilary cord I have and it would only play through the iPod Touch speakers. It would work fine if I had the charging usb cable hooked up to the wall adapter and the auxilary cord hooked up to the iPod headphones jack.
Do you already own the iH9? Most likely the iPod will play through the speakers but it will definitely not charge and other issues may ensue. It most certainly will not work with the alarm clock on the iH9.
i have an 2nd generation touch and my friend has an ihome. mine works perfectally in it but for some reason it wont charge in the ipod... dont know why tho. i went to hastings and dinked around with their ipod compatable docks they had on display and they work just fine with it.
hope that helps!
