iTunes on a disc

I was told that i can download iTunes from my computer onto a disc, then use that to download iTunes onto another computer, since my friend does not have the internet.
How would i go about doing this, and would i put it on a DVD or a CD?
Thanks!

To expand upon Chris' reply...you need to go to the Apple website and then download iTunes. When the box opens choose Save instead of install and then save the file to your desktop. Once the download completes, exit everything. Then, use your disk burning software to create a data file of the download from iTunes.

One question...I see you have Windows 2000. The latest version of iTunes only works on Windows XP Service Pack 2+ and Vista operating systems. Does your friend have an operating system that will work with iTunes 8.2? (If your friend doesn't have internet access how is the operating system kept up to date?)

Things should work on Vista...but to be absolutely certain, she should have all of the security updates that have come out. Has she kept up to date on this stuff...especially Vista Service Pack 1? That was a big download...did someone help her with this too...or did she buy her computer in the past 6 months after the security pack was introduced?

I saved it to my desktop. Now i drag it to the disc i want to place it on, right?
I am trying to do that and it says "The file iTunes setup has extra info attached to it that might be lost if continue copying. the conents of the file will not be affected. Do you want to copy the file anyway? iTunesSetup"
do i say yes?
