I don't believe there is a limit for the number of iPhones that can be activated with iTunes on a single computer, and I don't believe there is a limit for the number of iPods and/or iPhones that can be synced with the same iTunes library.

There is a 5 computer limit for the number of computers that can be authorized with the same iTunes account, but not for the number of iPods and/or iPhone that can be synced with the same iTunes library.

True for the new DRM free content, but not for the loads of existing DRM protected content that many have in their iTunes library - so unless someone new to iTunes or someone who has never purchased any music from the iTunes store in the past that includes DRM protection purchases nothing but DRM free music and music videos, the same will apply.
