EQ: Best way to transfer the EQ preferences from iTunes to iPod?

Hi,
I just bought an iPod Touch and love it, but the headphones sound thin for my taste, so I enabled the iPod T. EQ and selected the "bass boost" setting, but it is still lacking the bass that I can listen when I play the same songs on iTunes.
I understand that there is some way to transfer the songs from iTunes to the iPod with the EQ enabled in iTunes, how can I do this?

Thanks 😉

Preset EQ settings on songs in iTunes will be transferred to the iPod.

If the iPod EQ is set to Off, it will not use any EQ settings, even one assigned to song.
You need to set the EQ on the iPod to Flat.
When songs on the iPod are played, it will be played with the EQ setting on the iPod, unless it has a preset EQ assigned to it, then it will use that setting.
Flat is the same as not having the EQ on but if a song has a preset EQ, it will use that.

Thank you very much Chris,

So let me see if I got it correctly:
IF I really want strong bass from my iPod

1.- I have to go to iTunes and open the EQ interface, turn it ON and turn up the sliders for bass frequencies to my taste (maybe a little more because I will be listening the songs on my iPod right?)
2.- Sync my iPod to the Mac and transfer desired or selected songs which by now, ALL of them, will have applied the EQ in general right?
3.- Once transfered, I open the iPod MUSIC settings and select FLAT (instead of "bass boost" or any other setting particularly OFF) right?

+Of course I need to use this "extreme" EQ BASS EQ settings on iTunes just once, prior to sync and transfer the songs to the iPod and afterward I can return to more normal EQ settings when listening to iTunes on my iMac, right?+

If I understood correctly by now I should be listening to my iPod songs with the EQ settings from my iTunes right?

Thanks

1 - No. The EQ in iTunes only affects playback in iTunes. You need to select a song, right click - get info. Click the Options tab and set the EQ for the song there. Note that it must be one of the presets that are part of iTunes. If you create a custom EQ, it will not get used on the iPod.

2 - No. If you want all songs to play with the same EQ, just turn it on in the iPod settings and set it as you wish. No need for step 1, unless you want certain songs to play with a different EQ.

3 - If you set it to Flat, it will play as if there is no EQ unless you have done step 1 above.

Wow! Thanks for this great tip. I just bought my first iPod (a Nano), and have been trying to squeeze more low end out of the sound. I'm about to try this, so I hope it's what I need. Nonetheless, it's a great tip.

Thanks, gentlemen. Any chance you guys could recommend a high quality set of headphones/ear buds? I'm a musician and composer, so audio is of utmost importance to me.
