Zagg Invisible Shield leaves PERMANENT damage on my Touch
I was pretty excited to get my Zagg shield, as I had heard nothing but good things about it. I got it and the process looked extremely tedious but I decided to do it anyway. So I did, but decided to take it off. (about 10 min after applying) while it was wet. I took it off slowly but noticed it left a couple marks, and one giant one on my screen. I've tried everything (goo-gone, purple mist, etc) to get it off in vain. I'm pretty sure its not a spot now, and it may have pulled the touch screen membrane off. I can still use the parts where its damaged but it looked terrible and doesn't feel right at all. I need some help or relation. Thanks.
Did you ever get your screen fixed? I have ordered the same item and have not got yet....am afraid to use it now! Was there a reason you decided to take it off? I might just return mine when it comes.
Careful with the spray. I know of one user that ended up with a faulty Home button after applying IS. It may have been a coincidence, but I'd rather stick with static cling (no fluid) films.
Where do you get the static clings to cover screen? I also have a
Sena case and it is kinda snug & am wondering if when i put in
case if the cling would come off.
I'm not sure why the poster had "PERMANENT damage" to his Touch or why it was taken off after install. I have the Shield on many electronics. I put it on my MBAir in April and removed it in October when I took the computer in for repair. It was a bear to get off, but left no marks whatsoever.
I agree with your advice to "watch videos," but definitely not "use all the spray." I have put the Shield on numerous devices and have NEVER used all the spray.
