iPod touch won't pick up wifi signal

Using my laptop, i can pick up and connect to a Wifi signal from my living room. But when i try to connect my iPod touch 2G to this wifi signal, it does not even show up in the wifi section of the settings page. The weird thing is that i can detect that signal with the app "Wi-Finder." So i know my iPod touch's wifi sensor can find the network, it just does not show it in the settings page. Does anybody know why this would be or something i could do to get this network to show up?

Thanks,
Tyler
