frozen iphone

can anyone please help...any clues on how to fix a frozen screen. The bottom of my iphone is frozen (just so happens my phone, safari, etc. are on the bottom of my screen so i cannot make any calls...i already tried resetting my phone to factory settings, powering off, and doing a hard reset...nothing is working...please let me know if anyone might know how to fix this situation...i made an appt with the genius bar, but appt isnt for a few days...PLEASE help!
