Can a virus on the Windows partition affect the MacOS partition?

Question

Can a virus on the Windows partition affect the MacOS partition?

If I install Windows in addition to the MacOS using Bootcamp, can a Windows virus (worm, trojan horse,...) in any way affect the Mac partition? (e.g. delete it or compromise it in any other way)

No, your Mac partition won't be affected by any windows viruses.

There have been rootkit attacks to the master boot record and other areas, so it is not a virus like most people thing, but good reason to use up to date protection.

Those rootkit attacks were, what I had in mind.
I just didn't know, how imminent the danger really is and if it already happened.
