I can't make any changes to the track information in iTunes. Since many of the entrie in CDDB are incorrect or poorly done, I like to correct them. That's how I roll.

    In Windows Exploder, select the iTunes music folder and make sure you have Read/Write permissions to that folder and all enclosed items.

    i would also like to know how to stop the cddb automatically updating with incorrect info after i have spent time and effort correcting it.

    The tags don't get updated by iTunes unless you change them in iTunes.
    It is WMP or Zune software updating the tags then iTunes reads them.

    Windows Media Player is changing the ID3 tags.
    Open Windows Media Player.
    Go to Tools -> Options.
    Click the Library tab.
    Under Automatic Media information updates for files, uncheck everything.
