Network Printing/scanning HP 7600

I'm attempting to set up the digital filing feature on my HP 7600 AIO. This allows me from the AIO to select a destination on any networked machine to send a scan to and dumps it in that folder without me even having to be at the computer. I have a Wireless Network and attempting to do so from my MacBook.

It won't work....any ideas. it is wrong to assume that the network ready printer wont work on a wirelss network?

This feature isn't something that is built-in to the OS to do so I am assuming you installed the CD that came with the printer on all computers? Also is the model HP L7650? I need to know how to put the network path in the Direct Digital filing Speed dial. It references a path for a PC, and the instructions on the site for a mac path don"t make sense. what is the path if we are working through a router? I could use the drop box folder in the public folders. But could I use my external hard drive as the destination. what would that path be?

Well it says [here|http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c00874428&lc=en&dlc=e n&cc=us&lang=en&rule=6156&product=2512009] that you could also use the IP address of the computer for the pathname. Unless the two are on different subnets, this would work.
