Open encrypted DMG in windows/linux?

Hi,

If I create an encrypted disc image using Disc Utility, would I be able to open that file (with the password, obviously) in other operating systems (Windows or Linux), or is it accessible through OSX only?

Hi huwporter, FWIW
You could try TrueCrypt but it would require an install on every machine you want to use your encrypted disk on.
But it does have installers for Windows, OS X and Linux. I have used it successfully between Windows XP and OS X.

Thanks, that is what I thought, but I couldn't see it specifically stated anywhere.
