I have several Ringtones I bought in iTunes when I had an iPhone, but I now have a Verizon Wireless BlackBerry (AT&T's coverage was abysmal where I live). How can I convert the ringtones I paid for (.m4r files) to .mp3 files, or any other format that I can use on my BlackBerry? None of the converters I've tried accept .m4r files. I primarily use the BlackBerry (PocketMac) Ringtone Studio for BlackBerry, but it accepts any format but .m4r. Thanks.
There is every likelyhood that the files are encoded with apple's DRM technology which means you would not be able to play them on anything other than apple hardware anyway.
However, in the chance that they are not encoded, rename the file to .mp4 or .aac and you should be good
Ringtones from the iTunes Store cannot be converted to another format. You'll need to use a different source of music, one without copy protection, to create a ringtone for your Blackberry.
