Jan 14, 2009 10:43 AM in response to mrlndrvrby Grant Bennet-Alder,The LaserWriter IIg is an AppleTalk-over-Ethernet printer. It does not support LPR/LPD. Be sure you have it set up as an AppleTalk Printer.
Some off-brand Wireless Routers do not pass Appletalk packets, so you may see a difference between wired/wireless. -
Jan 14, 2009 1:39 PM in response to mrlndrvrby mrlndrvr,I have set the printer up as Appletalk on both laptops. Still crashes all programs that attempt to print. -
Jan 14, 2009 3:06 PM in response to mrlndrvrby Grant Bennet-Alder,I have been participating in most of the LaserWriter/AppleTalk/LocalTalk queries here, and I have not seen other reports of crashing when attempting to print. I do not follow the 10.5 or MacBook forums, so I could not say whether there have been any reports there.
Yours does not appear to be a known problem.
Is there anything unusual about your configuration? -
Mar 17, 2009 6:16 PM in response to mrlndrvrby deh1,I have the same problem. The application printing to the Apple IIg always crashes. Interesting enough I can print to a windows queue that is pointing to the IIg.
I'm running 10.5.6, I've done everything I can think of. I believe this started under 10.5 IE I have been using the windows queue for a while.
Any thoughts? -
Mar 17, 2009 6:25 PM in response to mrlndrvrby deh1,PS Yes you are correct it will print from Safari. It looks like the other applications don't generate the "processing page" dialog box.
Very odd....
