Boot Camp from an ISO?

My MBP's SuperDrive recently conked out and it's not under AppleCare any more. Is there a way to install Windows (doesn't necessarily have to be through Boot Camp) from an ISO onto the hard drive? The closest thing I can think of to helping is using VMware Fusion's boot from hard drive feature to install directly from an ISO.

MBP (original), Mac OS X (10.5.6)

There are several firms that can help with a replacement burner, such as [Other World Computing|http://eshop.macsales.com]. [iFixit|www.ifixit.com] has decent DIY guides for the replacement process; or if the thought of tearing into your baby makes you turn green and sickly, you can have their shop do the fixing for you.

I do believe that the MacBook Pro can boot from attached USB drives using the Option key. Any attached optical drives should show up as valid boot targets.
