Safari freezes on me and I have to quit out of the program???

This didnt happen until the last few weeks but Safari will freeze on me and I will have to hold down the home button to get out of it. No buttons in it will work, nothing. I am under the 2.2 update.

I havent cleared the cache or anything yet, I was going to wait and see if anyone else has had this problem.

I am not 100% sure but I think it happens mostly with lower signal strength.....

Try an iPhone reset, which is done by pressing and holding the home button and the sleep/wake or on/off button simultaneously until you see the Apple logo and then release - ignoring the slide to turn off prompt when doing so.

If no change after a reset, with Safari available, press and hold the home button until Safari quits and your iPhone returns to the home screen.

Go to Settings > Safari and select Clear History, Clear Cookies, and Clear Cache.

Follow this by doing an iPhone reset.

Page 34 of the manual:

“If something is not working right, restarting or resetting iPhone will likely solve the
problem.
Restart iPhone: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the red slider appears.
Slide your finger across the slider to turn off iPhone. To turn iPhone back on, press and
hold the Sleep/Wake until the Apple logo appears.
Reset iPhone: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the
same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
For more troubleshooting suggestions, see Appendix A, “Troubleshooting,” on page 131. “
