First off, both are $250. The nano while being thinner, smaller, flash-based, and having a color display, still doesn't measure up to the capacity and battery life of the 6 gb mini. So which one, in your opinion, is the better buy between the two. Any response is greatly appreciated. Im trying to decide which one to upgrade to.

It really depends upon the buyer
It's like buying a car, smaller for better fuel efficiency, larger more fuel capacity?
see my point?
do you want to look cool with a Nano or enjoy holding more songs on a Mini?
Peter.

It will depend what
you use it for in the long run.
Nanos are smaller, great for say jogging, minis have that edge with space, say travelling long distances.

If you're looking for battery life I would chose the Mini.

First off whoever is selling that mini for 250 is tripping the price. The ipod mini line was discontinued and is therfore on clearance, everywhere. It should be a pricebreak of atleast 20 dollars. The ioid mini does not carry photos, is heavier, s less scratch resistant, is worse in my pinion, I have a 4 gb mini and a 4 gb nano. Nano wins in my opinion, Hands down. Thatys my opinion.

Peter,
First off thanks for responding. Right now I have a first gen 4gb mini, its mainly for use in the car, and occasional use at work for demos and during closing time. The main reason i decided to upgrade is the release of the nano, but then after comparing it to the 6gb mini, thats when the debate started. i agree that as far as battery life goes the mini is the better choice but the nano's 14 hour battery life is still an improvement from my 8 hours. As far as looks, i'd definitely go for the nano, especially the blank one.

I am confused. the ipod mini is being discontinued and this nano is the new thing but if we dont upgrade will we have a problem down loading and receiving the newest software later.
Monique, you are right that the mini is discontinued, but that only means that it wont be sold anymore. There should be no problem downloading the updated software or anything like that regardless of which iPod you have. I'm just debating on which of the 2 to get. If you're happy with your mini, thats great, dont worry about it. But just because theres a new iPod out doesn't mean you have to run out and get it, although the nano is having that effect on people, so ive noticed at work.
6g iPod mini VS. 4g iPod nano
