Yamaha 01V96 with mLan card set up with Logic 8 help....

Hi All....

I hope someone can help.

I want to use my 01V96 (version 2) to record my band live at a gig. I've just bought an mLan card for my 01V so i can record each channel independently but can't seem to hook it up to Logic properly
Logic recognizes 8 of the inputs but should recognize 16 running at 48k. Then my 01V says 'sync error Slot'.
I'm connecting my MacBook Pro to the 01V's mLan card via a firewire cable.
I assumed that by doing this would give me 16 ins and 16 outs making it possible to record 16 channels simultaneously to Logic.
I'm wondering if it has something to do with the graphic patchbay setting. I've never really had to do anything with virtual cables so I'm pretty stuck with that.
I tried playing a track to see if anything came out however it was quiet and very distorted.I'm sure I'm probably just overlooking something.

If anyone has a step by step guise to setting this up i'll but them a pint!!!!!!
