Using QT to Export CD track to mp3?

I wanted to open a track from a CD in QT7, and export it as an mp3, but I can't find an option to do so. I see Sound to AIFF, Sound to AU, and Sound to Wave, but no Sound to mp3. Can this be done?

Normally I'd import the track into iTunes as an AAC, then change Import Preferences, and convert the track to mp3 there, then change my Preferences back. I was looking for a quicker way to do it with QT.

Why not just import as MP3 in iTunes from the CD?
