SBCglobal.net and iPhone

Hi guys, Im having a problem setting up my bosses iPhone with one email account, the sbcglobal.net account. The other standard emails(gmail, .mac, for instance) are all setup fine and working properly, I even had this sbcglobal.net account trained and working, but this was prior to the iPhone 2.0 update. Now I have the sbcglobal.net account up and working in terms of sending and receiving emails, but not in sync with the sbcglobal server (FETCH) I want to have this account behave as A PUSH account, but there is no option to change, I would love to reconfigure this to work properly as a PUSH account and step by step instructions would be greatly appreciated. (there are so many different accounts on the web of what to do, and most are either outdated or a workaround circa the initial iPhone launch)
Thanks in advance..
ps- a link to a confirmed working step by step would be great too...

The email account provider for an email account must support Push access for the account in order to access the account via Push with the iPhone's mail client, which is not supported with a POP account and an sbcglobal.net account is a POP account.

The email accounts that support Push access with the iPhone's mail client is a Yahoo account, a MobileMe account, and an Exchange account accessed via ActiveSync. You can access a Gmail account as an IMAP account with the iPhone's mail client, but Google does not support Push access for a Gmail account with the iPhone's mail client.
