Intel MacBook Pro & DSP 4.0 upgrade path?

I'm about ready to purchase a Final Cut Studio 1, so I can get the included DVD Studio Pro 4.0 app. I have an intel Mac Book Pro. Will I be able to download free updates to get to vers. 4.1.1 (which is for intel CPUs)? thanks!

Unless that version provides FCS1 with FCP 5.1.4, then the answer is no.

The PPC version of DVD SP at 4.0 will not upgrade to the Intel version.

That was a paid upgrade that ran $49.00 and ended nearly two years ago.

Good Info. It appears some versions of Final Cut Studio 1 come with DVD Studio Pro 4.1. Will this provide a free upgrade path to DSP 4.1.1 (the Intel version)?

Also, are the versions of Final Cut Studio 1 WITH the "HD" logo in the upper right corner of the box, the ones that come with DVD Studio Pro 4.1?

I only care about DVD Studio Pro running on my intel Mac (and don't really care about getting Final Cut and the other apps. Any recommendations?

4.1 is Intel version of DVD SP, 4.0.x is not, if you have 4.1.x it will upgrade to the last version in the 4.1.x series. 4.0.x will not upgrade to 4.1.x - in other words if you buy something that has 4.0.x. DVD SP you will need to buy something else. Upgrades are $499/$699 depending on what you are upgradng from. Final Cut Studio 1 to Final Cut Studio 2 is $499.
